A_A Vehicle Plates Set New Record with RM24 Million in Sales

The Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT), through the Road Transport Department (JPJ), has officially announced the results of the recent bidding for the special A_A registration number series. The bidding process was held on JPJeBid from April 19 to April 23 and received an overwhelming response from the public. A total of 24,470 individuals participated, showing just how popular and in-demand this special series was. Out of all the bidders, 6,746 people successfully secured their desired number plates.

Altogether, the A_A plate series managed to collect an impressive RM24,022,793 in total revenue. The most expensive number plate in this series was A9A, which was sold for a record-breaking RM902,020. Other top bids included A11A at RM703,007, A8A at RM700,000, A7A at RM502,000, and A2A at RM490,888. These numbers clearly show how much value and interest Malaysians place on unique or meaningful number plates.

In terms of popularity, A51A attracted the highest number of bidders, with 40 people trying to get it. This was followed by A101A with 31 bidders, A8118A with 29, and both A1881A and A19A with 27 bidders each. It’s clear that certain numbers really stand out and mean something special to many people.

MOT shared that all the proceeds from the bidding will go towards funding several beneficial public programs, including MyLESEN, the Helmet Exchange Programme, and FlySISWA, which aim to improve safety and accessibility for Malaysians.

It’s also important to note that even though these plates begin with the letter “A,” the A_A series is not part of the Perak state number plate series. Instead, it falls under the Wilayah Persekutuan (Federal Territory) registration scheme.

JPJ and MOT have congratulated all successful bidders, who officially received their results on April 24. They also reassured the public of their ongoing commitment to improving and expanding digital services for more efficient and accessible government services for all Malaysians.
