Who is Exempt from Contributing to the Social Security Organization (SOCSO)?
According to Schedule 1 of the Employees’ Social Security Act 1969, the following individuals are not required to contribute to SOCSO:
1️ Exempted Individuals:
✅ Workers employed in non-commercial or undefined employment
✅ Domestic workers employed for personal or household services (e.g., maids, private cooks, drivers, gardeners)
✅ Royalty-based contributors who extract minerals or products from land in exchange for a percentage of the output
✅ Members of the Malaysian Armed Forces
✅ Police officers
✅ Detainees in prisons, Henry Gurney Schools, special schools, detention centers, psychiatric hospitals, or leprosy settlements
2️ Exemptions for Invalidity Pension Contributions:
The following employees are not required to contribute to the Invalidity Pension Scheme:
📌 Employees aged 60 and above who never contributed before turning 55.
📌 Employees who have already turned 60.
📌 Employees who have been declared ineligible to receive invalidity pension benefits.
💡 Note: Employers should carefully assess whether an employee falls under these exemption categories to ensure compliance with SOCSO regulations!

1. 直接雇主或业者的伴侣;
2. 任何就业性质不明以及非行业性质雇用的人士
3. 任何因私人或个人原因(非商业或生意需求)雇佣以从事家庭相关服务的雇员;
4. 进贡者,即获得允许从一片土地上开采任何种类的矿物或产品的人将一定比例的矿物或产品支付的价值
5. 任何马来西亚武装部队的成员
6. 任何警务人员
7. 被拘留在任何监狱,亨利·格尼学校,特准学校,拘留所,精神病院或麻风病人定居点的人
8. 迄今为止,此法案涉及到的残疾抚恤金:
(a)年满60岁但在55岁前没有缴付过款项的雇员;或是
(b)已年满60岁的雇员;或是
(c)被确认无法领取残疾抚恤金的人
